Head of Operations - AI Robotics startup (hardware / software)

My client is looking for an experienced Head of Operations Robotics (Hardware/Software (m/f/d) to support in scaling the business.

As the Head of Operations, you will lead the Product Operations Team from Application Engineering, Service & Support and Production Planning to Spare Part Business.

Job functions :

Develop and implement comprehensive operational strategies aligned with business objectives and growth targets
Oversee end-to-end operations, including supply chain, order fulfilment, production, customer success, and aftersales services
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency, productivity, and scalability across all operational areas
Establish and manage robust supplier relationships, including identification, qualification, contract negotiations, and onboarding
Implement effective procurement and demand planning processes
Optimize warehouse operations, focusing on spare parts management and inventory control
Ensure seamless execution of customer projects from order to delivery and after-sales support
Implement and refine processes for customer engagement, internal coordination, and production
Oversee production partnerships, including contract management, quality assurance, and claims resolution
Lead customer-facing negotiations and issue resolutions
Implement systems for performance assessment across our deployments

Requirements

7+ years of progressive experience in operations management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Proven track record in scaling operations in a high-growth technology or robotics environment
Strong understanding of industrial robotics and automation technologies, and their applications in infield use cases
Very hands‑on, driven by a getting‑things‑done mindset and a desire for executional excellence
Exceptional problem‑solving and conceptional skills
Outstanding leadership abilities with experience in building and motivating cross‑functional teams
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, internal and external
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; Master, MBA or other advanced degree of advantage
Strong communication skills (also written), and business fluent in German and English (C1 level)
Valid driving license for Germany/EU
Valid German residency.
