Head of Origination/Senior Commercial Originator

Our client is one of Europe’s leading battery energy storage (BESS) developers, with a proven platform in Europe and a growing pipeline in Germany. They are expanding their commercial energy desk and offer a highly entrepreneurial, international environment where your ideas are listened to and acted upon.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Commercial Originator to lead origination activities in Germany. This is a senior, externally focused role where you will:

• Build and maintain relationships with utilities, trading houses, grid operators, and other key counterparties.

• Originate, negotiate, and close short- and long-term commercial contracts for battery storage assets.

• Support route-to-market strategy, RFPs, and partner selection.

• Collaborate with colleagues across Europe to convert opportunities into deals and maximize portfolio performance.

• Provide market insight and contribute to shaping the future of the energy desk.

What we are looking for

• Native / Fluent German speaker, fluent in English.

• 7–10 years’ experience in energy origination, trading, risk management, or related roles.

• Strong track record of closing contracts and negotiating successfully.

• Well-established network within the German energy market.

• Entrepreneurial, proactive, independent, and collaborative mindset.

• Willingness to travel within Germany and occasionally across Europe.
