About The Nutriment Company

At The Nutriment Company we are entrepreneurs, visionaries and doers. We operate in one of the fastest growing segments of FMCG right now - pet food - and we are proud to be Europe's leading company within the natural, raw/frozen premium segment. Our headquarters are in Stockholm and Düsseldorf, and we currently have 850+ employees spread across Europe. We generate 250+ million EUR turnover with strong profitability, and we are owned by the Nordic private equity company Axcel.

At The Nutriment Company, we have a highly motivated, ambitious, and fun team that aspires to take our company to the next level, as we expand at a high pace both through organic growth and acquisitions across Europe.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Supply Chain & Planning to build and lead supply chain planning for our Western Europe business - today with its core operational footprint in DACH and BENELUX.

This is a newly created leadership role, giving you the mandate to build proper demand & supply planning and clean out-of-stock (OOS) and inventory management from the ground up, while staying close to day-to-day operations.

You will report to the COO and work closely with commercial, finance and warehouse operations. You'll also play a central role in planning ahead for capacity and growth, as we continue integrating newly acquired brands (we've made several acquisitions across Europe in the past two years) into a single planning process.

Strategic Planning & S&OP

  • Build and run a proper Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process for Western Europe, including a rolling demand & supply plan, replacing today's short-term, reactive approach
  • Own inventory and out-of-stock (OOS) management end-to-end: establish clear ownership and escalation paths for raw material shortages and OOS situations, and for reconciling differences between physical and system stock - both currently unclear
  • Develop demand forecasts across our brands, factoring in sales data, seasonality and market trends
  • Plan warehouse and frozen storage capacity ahead of need, particularly around seasonal peaks and future network growth
  • Build a repeatable process for integrating newly acquired brands and their supply chains into planning and systems
  • Monitor and report supply chain KPIs (service level, stock cover, OOS rate) to senior leadership, with clear corrective actions
  • Set the standard and process for day-to-day disposition, ordering and stock-cover monitoring
  • Act as the escalation point for supplier delivery issues, shortfalls, and stock discrepancies that your team cannot resolve independently
  • Remain operationally capable of stepping into hands-on execution when required (e.g. team absence, critical supply disruption) - this is not a purely strategic, hands-off role
  • Own the supplier and warehouse-interface relationship at a strategic level, while day-to-day communication is run by your Controller
  • Ensure goods receipt/issue booking accuracy and supplier-side complaint handling are executed reliably by your team, with clear standards you set and monitor

Cost & Data Transparency

  • Maintain visibility on supply-side costs and cost models for materials and resale products, and flag margin risks or opportunities to Finance and Category Management
  • Partner with Finance to ensure accurate cost-of-goods data for budgeting, forecasting and pricing decisions
  • Report on supply chain KPIs, highlighting variances and corrective actions

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • lead and develop your Supply Chain Controller
  • Act as the primary point of contact for supply chain planning and product availability topics within Western Europe
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Warehouse Operations to ensure supply plans reflect business priorities
  • Present supply chain performance, risk and OOS updates to senior leadership

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in supply chain planning, ideally in food, frozen/cold-chain, or FMCG distribution
  • Strong demand forecasting and S&OP experience, including building a planning process from scratch
  • Comfortable operating at strategic level while remaining hands-on capable when needed
  • Excellent analytical skills with high proficiency in Excel
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to bring clarity to ambiguous, cross-functional situations
  • Experience hiring, managing and developing a team
  • Experience in raw/frozen pet food, meat, or other cold-chain/perishable categories
  • Experience integrating acquired businesses or brands into existing supply chain processes
  • CIPS qualification (or working towards)

What you can expect

  • The opportunity to build a supply chain function from the ground up in a fast-growing, PE-backed company
  • 30 days annual leave + bank holidays
