Health and Safety Auditor, AWS Health and Safety

In this role, you will drive the AWS Safety Management Program (SMP) through systematic auditing, policy design, and program governance. You’ll partner with local teams to implement SMP initiatives, measure safety performance, and enable continuous improvement across global data centers. You’ll balance regulatory compliance with AWS’s sustainability ambitions, delivering clear guidance and training. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with significant impact on safety and operational excellence.

• Plan and conduct SMP audits, including on-site and remote assessments
• Develop standards, tools, and documentation aligned with regulatory requirements and current operations
• Support SMP initiatives from communication to implementation
• Serve as subject matter expert for SMP- related questions
• Collaborate with local operational staff on communication, training, and execution of SMP
• Provide timely updates to DC Operations leadership as needed
• Deliver SMP program-level training and coaching to regional staff
• Ensure corrective actions are implemented
• Advise on regulatory compliance documentation for SMP adherence
• Oversee SMP-related performance metric reporting and communication
• Coordinate with DC support functions (H&S, Legal, Engineering, HR, Procurement) to drive improvements
• Act as safety and health standards SME and effective, clear communicator
• Travel 20-40%
• Plan, execute, and refine program requirements using data and metrics to drive improvements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent
• Experience handling confidential information
