Health System Specialist (Family Member Travel Screening/The Exceptional Family Member Program)

About the Position

Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area. Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions. The initial length of this overseas tour is 36 months. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. • GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing clerical or administrative duties in a medical or personnel support setting; providing routine customer service to patients or family members; collecting or verifying basic information; preparing or assembling forms or packets; entering data into computer systems; maintaining files; and performing general office tasks such as typing correspondence, scanning documents, or retrieving records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
• OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as:hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.
• OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

• GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative support duties for the Family Member Travel Screening (FMTS) or Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP); reviewing forms or documents for completeness; providing basic guidance to service members or family members on required FMTS/EFMP procedures; entering information into automated systems; coordinating with medical personnel to obtain missing documentation; and maintaining records or tracking suspense actions related to FMTS or EFMP processing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
• OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.
• OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
