NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Health Visitor to become part of the NHS Children & Families Health Visiting service. The role is a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse/Health Visitor position within the children and families teams with a designated caseload in the surrounding areas. Health Visiting is a diverse, satisfying and challenging role that involves working with children and their families to provide help, support and direction.
As a caseload manager you will be expected to provide a high quality, culturally sensitive, safe, person‑centred and effective health visiting service in the community, whilst working in collaboration with partner agencies. You will function as an independent, autonomous practitioner and should have in‑depth knowledge, expertise, proficiency and experience in health visiting and the GIRFEC/National practice model Framework. You will be responsible and accountable for the ongoing management of your caseload to ensure the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the universal health visiting pathway and additional programmes of care.
We encourage applications from all sections of the community. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde promotes equality, diversity and inclusion and is proud of its diverse workforce.
NHSGGC has pledged its commitment to being a Forces Friendly Employer. We welcome applications from across the Armed Forces Community and recognise military skills, experience and qualifications throughout the recruitment and selection process.
NHSGGC recognises the importance of work‑life balance and is committed to offering a range of flexible working options where service needs allow. Flexible working will be included as a topic for discussion during the recruitment process.
