Your Role And Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain IBM Z Millicode firmware components
• Contribute to the evolution of future IBM Z processor technologies
• Develop tools and automation solutions to improve development efficiency and quality
• Collaborate with architects, hardware designers, firmware teams, and operating system developers across a global organization
• Analyze complex system interactions across hardware and software boundaries
• Drive innovation, debugging, performance optimization, and problem resolution throughout the product lifecycle

Preferred Education

Master's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• Curiosity, passion for technology, and a continuous learning mindset
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline
• Experience programming in Assembly as well as C, C++, Python
• Solid understanding of Computer Architecture and Processor Architecture concepts
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in an agile, collaborative development environment

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

• Experience with IBM Z architecture and the IBM Z Principles of Operation
• Knowledge of firmware, operating systems, virtualization, or low-level system software
• Experience with development automation, CI/CD, or test infrastructure
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
