ICS Expert (m/f/d)

As an ICS Expert , you play a key role in shaping, enhancing, and embedding the Internal Control System across the organisation. Reporting to the Head of Process Excellence, you will work closely with stakeholders in Finance, Trading, Treasury, Sales, Information Security, and Operations to strengthen the control environment, drive process improvements, and ensure effective risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous development and enhancement of the Internal Control System, ensuring it remains effective, scalable, and aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Design risk‑based controls by identifying process risks, developing appropriate control frameworks, and establishing practical controls that strengthen governance and financial integrity.
  • Lead control monitoring and testing: coordinate and evaluate effectiveness testing, analyse deficiencies, and drive remediation to continuously improve the control environment.
  • Partner with the business: advise process owners and business stakeholders on process design, control implementation, and risk mitigation strategies across the organisation.
  • Optimise processes and governance by identifying opportunities for standardisation, automation, and efficiency improvements while supporting sustainable governance structures.
  • Manage the GRC environment: further develop tools, maintain high‑quality documentation, and provide meaningful reporting to management and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Several years of experience in Internal Controls, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Governance, Compliance, or a related GRC function.
  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a comparable field.
  • Strong understanding of internal control frameworks, risk assessments, control design, and control testing methodologies.
  • Proven experience analysing and improving end‑to‑end business processes and implementing sustainable control solutions.
  • Experience with GRC tools, control documentation methodologies, and strong Excel and data analysis capabilities; BI tool experience is an advantage.
  • Experience in energy trading, commodities, financial services, or similarly complex and highly regulated environments is beneficial.
