Information Security Officer

Koblenz University of Applied Sciences ( with campuses in Koblenz, Remagen, and Höhr-Grenzhausen, offers teaching, continuing education, and applied research through a comprehensive range of on-campus and distance learning programs.

Your responsibilities

• Expansion and management of the university-wide Information Security Management System (ISMS) and further development of information security processes in accordance with BSI Basic Protection requirements
• Creation and maintenance of information security guidelines in collaboration with process owners. Conducting business impact analyses and deriving a risk profile, including mitigation measures
• Project management of the implementation project in accordance with BSI Basic Protection, as well as support for audits and the conduct of internal reviews
• Consulting and regular reporting to the Executive Board on matters of information security and project progress
• Integration of information security requirements into all university processes, from the academic departments to IT
• Participation in awareness-raising and training measures for staff

Your Profile

• A completed university degree in an IT-related field (preferably computer science, information technology, or business informatics) or a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience and documented continuing education in the field of information security
• Experience in supporting a certification project, e.g., according to ISO 27001, TISAX, or BSI Basic Protection
• Knowledge of identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks
• In-depth knowledge of an information security standard and risk management
• Several years of experience working in a professional IT organization
• Ability to work in a team and a solution-oriented approach, as well as communication and presentation skills
• Class B driver’s license
• German language skills (at least C1 level)
• Relevant experience in project management and knowledge of data protection are a plus
