Interim Financial Controller

A leading industrial/manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller on a 6-9 month contractto provide immediate support to the finance function during a period of significant operational change and business preparation.

The successful candidate will take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, financial controlling and management reporting, while providing hands‑on analytical support to the business and wider finance team.

A key element of the role will be supporting the business with detailed financial analysis required for the ongoing transaction preparation, including vendor due diligence.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the budgeting, forecasting and financial controlling activities.
• Produce detailed financial reports and management analyses.
• Develop and maintain sophisticated Excel-based reporting and financial models.
• Analyse actual versus budget performance across markets and revenue streams.
• Prepare detailed sales analysis covering planned versus actual performance.
• Support financial vendor due diligence with detailed financial data and analytics.
• Work extensively with SAP S/4HANA , while supporting the business through ongoing system-related challenges.
• Extract, reconcile and manipulate data between S/4HANA and Excel.
• Reporting to the CFO and wider management team.
• Help improve the quality, consistency and reliability of financial information.
• Support the finance function through a period of business transformation.

Ideal Profile

• Strong background in Financial Controlling or FP&A .
• Strong experience producing detailed financial analysis and reporting.
• Practical experience with SAP S/4HANA .
• Comfortable operating in an environment where systems and processes are still being stabilised.
• Ideally experience within mechanical engineering, industrial manufacturing or a similar environment .
• Understanding of production processes would be advantageous.
• Fluent German and strong English.
• hands‑on, analytical and highly adaptable.
• Available at short notice and comfortable working in an interim capacity.
