International Tax Manager

We are looking for an experienced International Tax Manager to act as the single point of

contact (SPOC) for all international tax matters within the group. In this role, you will

ensure global tax compliance while supporting the company’s continued international growth.

Working closely with the CFO, Head of Finance, internal teams and external advisors, you

will take ownership of key international tax topics and provide pragmatic, business-oriented

solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the central contact for all international tax matters, ensuring global compliance together with the accounting team and external tax advisors.
• Assess the tax implications of international expansion, including new hires abroad and global customer invoicing (VAT, withholding tax, permanent establishments, corporate income tax and transaction taxes).
• Work independently as a sparring partner for internal teams, supporting finance, sales and operational stakeholders on international tax matters.
• Oversee tax matters for international subsidiaries and coordinate external advisors handling registrations, filings and declarations.
• Take ownership of the company’s transfer pricing framework, including strategy development, documentation and implementation together with external consultants.
• Support the international tax strategy, particularly regarding VAT and withholding tax obligations, in close collaboration with the sales organization.
• Identify opportunities to optimize, automate and standardize tax processes, including establishing a group-wide Tax Compliance Management System (CMS).
• Support tax filings, HGB financial statements and tax audits, ensuring compliance and reliability within the finance function.
• Report directly to the CFO and work closely with the Head of Finance.

Your Profile

• Degree in economics, business administration, tax, accounting or a comparable field. A tax advisor qualification (Steuerberater) is a plus but not required.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally with a focus on transfer pricing or international VAT, gained within a larger consulting firm.
• Additional in-house experience in an industrial or technology-driven company is highly desirable, ideally within the software industry.
• Strong knowledge of international VAT, withholding tax, permanent establishments and transfer pricing methods.
• Practical experience supporting tax audits and ideally exposure to tax accounting or

• Comfortable working with cross-functional stakeholders and collaborating across teams internationally.
• Strong MS Office skills (Google Workspace is a plus) and ideally familiarity with ERP or reporting tools such as Odoo and/or DATEV.
• Fluent German and English, written and spoken.
