Investment Associate – Private Equity (m/f/d)

We are working with an entrepreneurial private equity investor specialising in corporate carve-outs and business transformation across Europe. The firm acquires businesses with untapped potential and works closely with management teams to establish their independence, improve performance and support long‑term growth.

The team is looking for an Investment Associate to support the evaluation and execution of new investments, alongside the development of existing portfolio companies. This opportunity offers exposure to complex transactions and the operational decisions that drive investment returns.

You will:

• Evaluate investment opportunities through company analysis, market research and assessment of business models.
• Build financial models covering valuation, cash flow, working capital requirements and investment returns.
• Support financial and commercial due diligence, including analysis of standalone costs, separation requirements and operational improvement opportunities.
• Prepare investment committee materials and contribute to transaction structuring and execution.
• Work with senior investment professionals, operating partners, management teams and external advisers throughout the investment process.
• Support portfolio monitoring, business planning and the assessment of potential add-on acquisitions.

We are looking for someone with:

• Approximately 4–6 years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, M&A, transaction services or restructuring.
• Strong financial modelling, accounting and analytical skills, supported by practical transaction experience.
• An interest in corporate carve‑outs, special situations and operational value creation.
• The ability to assess businesses with complex financial information and identify the key drivers of performance.
• An entrepreneurial mindset, sound commercial judgement and the confidence to take ownership within a small team.
• A strong academic background in finance, economics, business or a related discipline.
• Fluency in German and English.
