Investment Banking Analyst - Energy & TMT

We are partnering with a leading international investment bank in Frankfurt that is looking to hire an Investment Banking Analyst to join its Corporate Finance & M&A team. The successful candidate will work alongside senior bankers on domestic and cross-border transactions across Energy Transition, Infra-Tech and TMT industries, supporting the execution of complex strategic and financial advisory mandates.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the execution of live M&A transactions from origination through to completion.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, including DCF, Trading Comparables, Transaction Comparables, Merger Models and LBO analyses.
• Prepare pitch books, teasers, information memoranda, management presentations and other marketing materials.
• Conduct company, industry and market research to support transaction execution and business development initiatives.
• Perform financial statement analysis, valuation and strategic assessments.
• Assist in due diligence processes and coordinate with clients, lawyers, accountants and other external advisors.
• Prepare investment committee materials and internal approval documentation.
• Monitor capital markets, industry trends and transaction activity across relevant sectors.
• Support senior bankers in client relationship management and business development efforts.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• 1-3 years of experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Valuation, Transaction Services or Deal Advisory.
• Strong financial modelling and valuation capabilities.
• Experience supporting live M&A transactions.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluent German and English are required; other European languages are advantageous but not essential.

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to cross-border M&A transactions.
• Experience within Energy Infrastructure, TMT, Broader Industrials or other relevant sectors.
• Knowledge of capital markets and corporate finance concepts.
