For our Legal team in Munich we are looking for an IP Counsel

Responsibilities

• Identification of Designs, trademarks and inventions eligible for protection
• Establishing and managing IP portfolios, including Filing, Defending and Enforcing said portfolios
• Conduct and co-ordinate trademark, design and patent searches, including availability, clearance and freedom‑to‑operate analyses
• Patent searches and monitoring patent portfolios of competitors as well as support in general legal issues relating to intellectual property, including settlement of disputes in this area
• Preparation of Design Drawings
• Support advising departments and subsidiaries on IP issues
• Providing IP Due Diligence support for corporate development activities, including patentability, freedom-to-operate, infringement, validity and regulatory exclusivity analyses
• IP licensing and technology transfer
• Communication with external law firms

Qualifications

• IP Law degree (Patent attorney education preferred)
• 3+ years of work experience in the field of design, trademark and patent protection at an in‑house IP department or IP Law firm
• Material knowledge of IP law in Europe
• Ability to manage and complete projects from beginning to end
• Proactive and self‑motivated, able to work in a fast‑paced environment
• Good verbal, written and visual communication skills
• Fluent in English - other languages are a plus
• Ability to deliver under tight time constraints
• Strong sense of responsibility
