IP Paralegal

Responsibilities

• Support the Intellectual Property team in the administration and protection of the global patent, trademark and design portfolio
• Responsible for filing, renewal and defense of patents, trademarks and designs worldwide
• Prepare and submit official filings (e.g., powers of attorney, FFL, national and international new and follow‑up filings, oppositions)
• Manage and maintain the IP database and monitor deadlines across the entire portfolio
• Handle formal processing of invention disclosures, inventor remuneration and incentive schemes
• Daily correspondence with external law firms and patent offices, as well as with our inventors at home and abroad
• Further develop the IP management system, including implementation of AI‑supported tools to automate routine tasks
• Provide administrative support for existing IP processes and workflows

Requirements

• Completed vocational training as a certified patent attorney assistant (Patentanwaltsfachangestellte/-r)
• Several years of professional experience in intellectual property (IP) law, ideally in an international environment
• Confident user of IP management systems (preferably experience with eFiLiA by Interasco) and MS Office
• Experience in enhancing IP software solutions and in process digitization
• Knowledge of AI‑supported tools in the IP context is an advantage
• Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
• Structured, independent and reliable working style; resilient and flexible
• Open to new ideas and willing to question established ways of thinking; team-oriented with strong communication skills
