UNITY Consulting & Innovation IT Professional * (Senior Level) - Internal IT Infrastructure Development Büren, Germany (hybrid) Employee Application Administration €45,000 to €65,000 / year Hybrid Work | Sabbatical Options | Forward-Looking Infrastructure Projects Do you want to work on your own infrastructure instead of bouncing back and forth between client projects, avoid logging hours on third-party systems, and work with colleagues who’ve been part of the team for over 15 years? We’re looking to expand our ICT team in Paderborn (or optionally in Berlin or Cologne). The tech stack: Intune, Autopilot, Jamf, Defender XDR, Veeam, Hyper-V, PRTG. You don’t have to be an expert in all of them—but in at least one area, you should have hands-on experience, not just a certification. Responsibilities We have four projects lined up for this year: New Hyper-V cluster. Ransomware-proof offline backup with automated recovery tests. Network tiering across all locations. Implementation of a SOC. Want more info? Read on: Work Environments & Current Projects: Modern Workplace You’ll help further develop our modern device environments (Windows, Mac, iOS). Thanks to Intune, Autopilot, and automated patch management, we operate at a high standard—and you’ll help continuously improve it and implement new ideas. Microsoft 365 Cloud Services You’ll help shape the operation of our Microsoft 365 environment—from routine tasks to advanced security and governance issues. Project Example: You’ll further develop existing measures such as tenant hardening, conditional access policies, account tiering, PIM, and XDR, ensuring that our cloud environments remain secure, efficient, and future-proof. Infrastructure & Virtualization You will continuously operate and further develop our Hyper-V clusters and Windows Server environments while ensuring that systems remain secure and up-to-date—including patch management and the optimization of existing security policies. Current project: Renewal of our existing Hyper-V cluster, which you can actively help shape. Backup & Recovery You’ll contribute to the ongoing development of our backup and recovery strategies. Existing concepts will be optimized, and resilience and automation will be further expanded. Current Project: Updating a ransomware-proof offline backup and automating regular recovery tests—a project you can actively help shape. Network Engineering You’ll actively help shape our network environments and ensure stable, scalable, and future-proof structures. Existing concepts such as network tiering and VLAN structures will be continuously refined. Current project: Expanding network tiering to all locations—a project in which you can actively help shape the implementation. Monitoring & Incident Response You will continue to design and operate the monitoring of our IT infrastructure. Existing systems, such as PRTG, are continuously optimized to ensure that all relevant assets are covered. Project Example: You’ll expand dashboards, improve alerting mechanisms, and further develop reporting processes. You’ll also drive projects to expand monitoring, automate alerting and reporting processes, and implement a SOC provider. A word of honesty: We are the internal IT team. You won’t be working on UNITY Consulting’s client projects, but rather on our own internal IT infrastructure. Of course, you’ll occasionally interact with our colleagues* from the consulting division, so you shouldn’t be afraid of challenging environments or communication. No problem for you? Then apply! Qualifications Solid experience in one or more of the following areas: Modern Workplace, Microsoft 365 Cloud Services, Infrastructure & Virtualization, Backup & Recovery, Networking, Monitoring & Incident Response – Nice to have: Intune, Autopilot, Jamf, Defender XDR, Veeam, Hyper-V & PRTG. Completed IT training or comparable qualification. Ability to work independently and in a structured manner, with the motivation to actively shape projects.
