IT Support Specialist, Data Center Operations

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Key responsibilities

  • Diagnosing hardware and network problems followed by physical repairs.
  • Troubleshooting events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Performing root cause analysis of equipment failures.

Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulatory requirements).

Working rotating shifts (morning/late/night) as well as weekends to maintain the 24/7 data center environment.

On‑call rotation to respond to off‑duty emergency calls.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, math, or equivalent, or experience in informational technology operations.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
  • Experience with general troubleshooting/debugging of hardware.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Speak, write, and read fluently in English, and have the ability to take direction in English.
