Since 1905, Debeka is one of the leading insurance and savings providers in Germany, employing 16,000 people and serving over 7.5 million customers. The IT‑System Engineer is a key member of a seven‑person team that ensures the secure, smooth and efficient operation of our data centre.

Responsibilities

Preparation, capacity planning and optimisation of hardware and infrastructure installations in the data centre.
Planning, execution and delivery of cross‑departmental topics and projects with business units.
Coordination and alignment of in‑, out‑ and change builds with relevant departments.
Development and implementation of technical solutions within the data centre.
Handling changes and incidents following ITIL processes.
Improving the tool‑based documentation for rack, asset and connection management.
Monitoring, scheduling and tracking of maintenance activities.
Assisting with fault analysis and troubleshooting in electrical and HVAC systems.
Organising repair, component replacement and field maintenance including external technicians.
Coordinating suppliers, consultants and external service providers.
Planning and conducting on‑call duty for operational assurance.

Qualifications

Electrotechnical training such as a master’s/technician certification or IT system electronics / system integration specialist.
Minimum 5 years of IT professional experience or up to 2 years of relevant practical experience.
Strong knowledge of electrical wiring and standards (especially DIN EN 50600).
Experience with measurement instruments and methods in electrical engineering (LWL/Cu).
Proficiency with DCIM tools for data centre infrastructure management.
ITIL V4 knowledge is a plus.
Willingness to participate in on‑call duty, weekend maintenance and occasional travel.
Team‑spirit, result orientation and strong decision/communication skills.
Independent, meticulous and thorough work style.
High technical understanding and customer focus.
Excellent German language skills in spoken and written form.
Driver’s licence Class B.
