Julia Developer

We are supporting an innovative technology organisation looking for an experienced Julia Developer to join its technical team.

The role combines hands-on Julia development and algorithm development with modern software engineering practices. You will work on technically complex problems, developing, optimising and integrating algorithms into robust software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise algorithms using Julia.
• Translate mathematical and analytical concepts into robust, maintainable software solutions.
• Design, implement and test Julia-based algorithms with a focus on performance, scalability and reliability.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of software components surrounding the algorithms.
• Apply modern software development practices, including version control and CI/CD.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested production code.
• Collaborate with other technical specialists to take solutions from concept through to implementation.
• Continuously improve existing algorithms, code quality and development processes.

Key requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience developing in Julia, with profound knowledge of the language and its ecosystem.
• Proven experience in algorithm development, ideally involving optimisation, mathematical modelling, numerical methods or similar.
• Solid software development experience, including Git/GitLab and CI/CD.
• Experience developing clean, maintainable and well-tested production software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative technical environment.
