In order to provide high‑fidelity training simulation, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Junior Business Process & AI Specialist to join a team of experienced engineers and experts. The successful candidate will help define, implement, and integrate complex simulation sub‑systems in the domain of sensors and weapons, supporting the Eurofighter pilot training simulation system PSTS.

This role involves bringing business processes to the cutting edge of technology through the application of artificial intelligence. Candidates should have a solid foundational knowledge of ML and AI, and the drive to independently delve deeper into relevant sub‑fields. Instead of working on isolated models, you will develop AI applications that are directly integrated into our operational processes, from administration and project management to technical workflows such as requirements management and software development.

Major Role & Responsibilities

• Iterative Development: build upon existing prototypes, drive further development of AI applications, and analyse business processes by actively executing them in the operational environment.
• Analysis & Conceptualisation: conduct in‑depth process analyses, create experimental implementations, formulate proposals, and design technical roadmaps. Play an active role in requirements definition, design, and implementation.
• Deployment & Scaling: plan and oversee deployment of applications within our expanding infrastructure, ensuring technical stability and compliance with established processes.
• Optimization Loops: feed insights from application usage and user interaction into the technical development process to continuously enhance process efficiency and system acceptance.

Specific & Technical Skills / Experience Required

• Technical Foundation: solid foundational knowledge in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, ideally gained through relevant academic studies or early project experience.
• Analytical Depth: ability and drive to independently delve deeply into complex technical sub‑domains.
• Implementation Focus: structured approach to work, committed to translating theoretical models into functional, scalable solutions.
• Systemic Understanding: comprehension of the interplay between technical implementation and organisational efficiency.

General Skills / Experience Required

• Degree in computer science or engineering.
• Good language skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a multi‑disciplinary team.
• Capability to respond to changes in activities and priorities.
• Good communication skills with the ability to operate in a multi‑cultural environment.
