Junior Researcher – Liquid Food Product Developer (f/m/d)

40 hours per week, Hamburg.

Required qualifications:

• Completed degree or training in chemistry, biotechnology, food technology, or a related scientific field (Master’s preferred).
• Solid foundational knowledge of chemistry; initial hands‑on experience in an analytical or formulation laboratory is a strong plus.
• High affinity for laboratory work, including formulation, testing, and routine R&D processes.
• Genuine interest in the food industry, particularly in dietary supplements, plant‑based extracts, and functional ingredients.
• Curiosity and flexibility to conduct research across diverse topics, from formulation science to market trends.
• Ability to communicate scientific data clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including clients, Sales and Marketing teams.
• Proactive and open to learning; eager to grow into a Product Developer role within a dynamic R&D setting.
• Solution‑oriented thinker, able to contribute creative input to formulation challenges.
• Structured and detail‑oriented with a high standard of quality, precision, and independence in daily lab work.
• Strong written and spoken English is required; German is a plus.

Tasks:

This is a hands‑on, laboratory‑based role within the R&D department, ideal for someone who thrives in a research setting and enjoys working directly with experimental formulations and technologies. The position offers strong potential for growth in responsibility as you develop expertise and contribute to innovative projects.

Core Focus: R&D and Lab Work

• Become a specialist in our proprietary liposomal technology.
• Evaluate the compatibility of new ingredients for use in our formulations.
• Prepare pilot‑scale formulations in the R&D laboratory.
• Conduct stability and shelf‑life testing on experimental products.
• Provide formulation and ingredient insights to support customer consultations.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Strong motivation and willingness to develop communication skills to grow into a confident client consultant.
• Coordinate with Business Developers to create tailored solutions for clients.
• Participate in joint research initiatives with the Quality Control team.
• Support Marketing by researching trends and innovations in the dietary supplement and functional food industry.

Continuous Learning & Support

• Assist with general R&D tasks including research and new topic exploration.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date training documentation and lab records.
• Work within the broader scope of product development, with increasing autonomy and responsibility over time.
