Job Summary
The role of the Large Merchant Sales Intern is to assist the team in selling PayPal’s various payment products to the largest merchants.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Support the Sales team in driving strategic initiatives, optimizing processes, resolving challenges, and identifying growth opportunities.
- Conduct industry and market research to identify new business opportunities and support the development of initiatives that enhance portfolio growth, with specific focus on Travel, Groceries and High-Risk verticals.
- Translate business questions into data analyses, providing actionable insights to inform decision-making and growth strategies.
- Deliver regular reporting and communications, including contributions to newsletters and performance updates, leveraging key metrics and visualizations.
- Prepare materials and data for client presentations, meetings, and business cases to support commercial discussions.
- Facilitate merchant onboarding in collaboration with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Integration, Operations, etc.), ensuring smooth processes and accurate documentation.
- Maintain sales pipeline integrity through effective use of Salesforce and other business tools.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Strategy, to design and deliver new verticals and expansion opportunities.
- Communicate insights and results clearly through impactful data visualization and presentations.
What you need to bring
- Be hungry to learn and be challenged, creative, reliable, energetic, results focused with a can-do attitude.
- Knowledge of payments processing, retail and e-commerce is preferable.
- Strong organizational skills, being able to work within a defined sales process and have effective time management.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and very strong in Excel.
- Ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment while having good attention to detail.
- Good team player with a collaborative approach to work and able to create quality relationships quickly, while also working well independently and coping with ambiguity.
- Good sense of initiative, self-motivation and willingness to learn.
- English and German proficiency.
- Fluent English and German is required for the role.
