Lead Engineer – EV Charging Infrastructure (all genders)

As Team Lead EVCI you combine hands-on software engineering with people leadership to advance the EVCI product. You will help optimize energy consumption at charging stations through the gridBox controller and associated backend components, enabling operators across Europe. You’ll balance technical work with coaching, driving robust production deployments in a fast-growing environment. Your work shapes smart charging and cloud EMS integrations, contributing to gridX’s mission to make renewable energy accessible and affordable.

• Remote work up to 70 days/year

• Deliver robust software to production and support real-world deployments
• Lead and coach engineers to foster psychological safety and growth

• Architect and evolve distributed systems, including the gridBox local controller and backend EMS integrations
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to enable configuration and admin dashboard interfaces

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• At least 2 years in a team lead or comparable leadership role
• 3+ years of production experience with Golang (or expertise in Rust or C++ in a Go-based ecosystem)
• Experience designing, deploying, and operating resilient distributed architectures
• Experience with Docker and containerization
• Familiarity with SQL and modern analytics frameworks; Grafana is a plus
• Edge computing / IoT networks interest or experience
• Proven track record of production deployments and scaling in dynamic environments
