Lead Human Pharma Public & Government Affairs – Obesity and Metabolic Health

Location: Global Headquarters, Ingelheim, Germany.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement integrated campaigns in partnership with Corporate Affairs to raise awareness and prioritize policy for Obesity and Metabolic Health.
• Map policy and stakeholder landscapes to position the company on key therapeutic areas within Human Pharma.
• Craft clear policy positions and support evidence generation to equip global and country teams to engage with policymakers.
• Build and execute Public & Government Affairs capabilities with focus on the EU5, US, China, and Japan.
• Coach country teams to develop strategic and tactical plans with measurable policy outcomes.
• Serve as the primary contact for the Therapeutic Area, providing strategic counsel and expertise in international health policy.
• Establish robust cross‑functional relationships with Communications, Market Access, Medical, Marketing, Legal, and Compliance teams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Politics, Health Policy, Sciences, Economics, Law, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in a Public & Government Affairs role (in‑house, consultancy, or government).
• Deep understanding of national and global health‑policy processes, including the pharmaceutical sector’s role in specific therapeutic areas.
• Ability to succeed in a global, matrixed organization and lead without direct managerial authority.
• Demonstrated experience delivering integrated campaigns that drive meaningful policy change.
• Extensive experience networking and building relationships that influence policy outcomes.
• Leadership mindset to build trust across the business.
• Experience ensuring compliance with Legal and Compliance requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills; fluency in English (additional languages a plus).
