Lead Planner

Location: Berlin, Germany (Site-Based / Hybrid)

Contract Duration: 24 Months

Reporting To: Project Director

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Planner to take full ownership of the project programme on a major hyperscale data centre construction project in Berlin.

The Lead Planner will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing the integrated master schedule, ensuring accurate progress tracking, robust delay analysis, and clear programme reporting. This role is critical in driving project performance and providing independent, data‑driven insight to the client and senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the integrated Level 3/4 construction schedule using Primavera P6
• Establish and manage the baseline programme aligned with contractual milestones
• Ensure full integration of all workstreams, including:
  • MEP systems
  • Fit‑out
  • Commissioning and handover
• Build logic‑driven, resource‑loaded schedules with realistic durations

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

• Lead weekly schedule updates based on site progress and contractor inputs
• Produce:
  • Weekly and monthly progress reports
  • Critical path and float analysis
  • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques, including:
    • SPI/CPI tracking
    • Schedule variance analysis
  • Provide clear, concise programme insights to senior stakeholders
• Review and assess contractor‑submitted programmes for:
  • Logic integrity
  • Sequencing accuracy
  • Feasibility
  • Challenge programmes where assumptions are unrealistic or non‑compliant
  • Monitor adherence to contractual programme submission requirements
  • Evaluate and validate recovery programmes

Delay Analysis & Claims Support

• Perform delay analysis, including:
  • Time Impact Analysis (TIA)
  • Windows analysis
  • Impacted as‑planned assessments
• Support the commercial team in Extension of Time (EOT) evaluations
• Provide programme evidence for claims and dispute resolution
• Identify and manage interface risks across CSA, MEP, and commissioning phases
• Integrate long‑lead procurement activities into the master schedule
• Monitor schedule risks and quantify float erosion
• Support commissioning planning to ensure smooth construction‑to‑handover transition

Stakeholder Engagement

• Attend and lead programme discussions in:
  • Weekly site meetings
  • Progress reviews
  • Client reporting sessions
• Present schedule data in a clear, structured manner to both technical and non‑technical audiences
• Collaborate closely with construction, commercial, and design teams

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management (or equivalent)
• Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in project planning/scheduling
• Proven experience on data centre, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or mission‑critical projects
• Strong experience with:
  • Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Delay analysis methodologies (TIA, windows analysis)
  • Programme reporting and controls
  • Experience working in complex, multi‑contractor construction environments
• Familiarity with German construction practices and regulations is preferred
• Fluent English required; German language skills advantageous
• Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
• Independent and confident in challenging programme assumptions
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proactive in identifying risks and driving mitigation strategies
• Strong organisational and leadership abilities
