Legal Counsel - Renewable Energy

The Company

A leading European renewable energy developer specialising in the development, construction and operation of large-scale renewable energy assets.

With a growing pipeline of renewable energy projects across Europe, the business is expanding its legal team to support continued growth in the German market.

The Role & Responsibilities:

You will provide legal support across the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects,

This role offers exposure to complex renewable energy transactions, project development, permitting, contracting and acquisitions.Advise on planning, permitting and environmental approval processes.

• Support regulatory matters including EEG, EnWG, BauGB and BImSchG.
• Draft, review and negotiate project-related contracts
• Support renewable energy project acquisitions and legal due diligence.
• Advise on land agreements, easements, rights of way and grid connection matters.
• Manage external legal advisors.
• Support wider commercial and corporate legal matters.

The Person:

• Qualified German lawyer (1st and 2nd State Examination).
• 4 years experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, project development or a relevant law firm environment.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation experience.
• Knowledge of German energy law, planning law and permitting processes is advantageous.
• Experience supporting wind, solar or BESS projects preferred.
• Fluent German and English language skills.
