Legal & Transport Compliance Manager

Trust in a managed transport marketplace depends on more than a signed contract. It depends on knowingwho is moving each vehicle, whether the right documents and insurance are in place, howresponsibilities are allocated, and what happens when standards are not met.

As Legal & Transport Compliance Manager , you’ll make those expectations clear,workable, and auditable. You’ll build a pragmatic compliance layer that protects customers and carrierpartners while enabling the marketplace to expand across Europe.

What You’ll Do

• Own the operating framework for carrier verification, transport documents, insurance, permits, andrecurring reviews
• Translate legal and regulatory requirements into clear controls, workflows, and evidence
• Maintain customer, carrier, vendor, and data-processing templates with external counsel whereappropriate
• Run risk-based partner checks and ensure findings lead to proportionate corrective action
• Track regulatory developments relevant to German and European road and vehicle transport
• Support incident reviews, claims, contract questions, and escalations with calm factual judgement
• Partner with operations and product to make compliant behaviour the easy default in everydayworkflows
• Keep policies, registers, and supporting documentation ready for customer diligence and audit

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves

• At least three years in compliance, transport law, vendor risk, contract management, auditing, ora regulated logistics environment
• Experience turning complex requirements into controls that operational teams can actually follow
• Strong analytical judgement and precise written documentation
• Confidence handling sensitive partner issues and knowing when external counsel is required
• Fluency in German and strong working English
• Willingness to travel occasionally for partner reviews or audits

Nice-to-Haves

• Knowledge of European road transport, freight forwarding, carrier liability, or finished-vehiclelogistics
• Experience with third-party audits, insurance claims, or carrier onboarding controls
• Familiarity with GDPR, information-security diligence, and cross-border contracting
• Another European language
