To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support specialized experience.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience directly related to the position.
• For GS‑12 level, one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑11 or equivalent under other pay systems.
• Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time‑in‑grade, time‑after‑competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any regulatory requirements by the cut‑off date.
• Creditable specialized experience includes advising higher leadership on logistics and program performance, evaluating operation plans to identify improvement areas, and coordinating quantitative and qualitative studies and analyses related to bulk petroleum requirements.
• Experience may be paid or unpaid, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations.
• Volunteer work that builds critical competencies, knowledge, and skills counts toward credit.
• All qualifying experience, including volunteer experience, will be credited.

Travel & Physical Demands

• Frequent travel to foreign countries (TOY) required to perform required functions.
• Physical exertion such as long periods of walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, and moderate lifting is required.
• Travel accommodations may be under tactical field conditions.

Overseas Requirements

• Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in DoD Instruction .
• For employees bringing a child to an overseas location entitled to attend a DoD school, the child will receive free appropriate public education and related services, including special education if eligible.
• For employees bringing an infant or toddler up to 3 years to the overseas location, early intervention services (EIS) will be provided in accordance with eligibility criteria.
• Employees and family members requiring medical or dental care overseas will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care.
• Access to military medical and dental facilities is on a space‑available basis and reimbursable.
• U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.

Pay and Benefits

Pay retention will be extended to an eligible employee who applies through a formal recruitment program and is selected for a position at an overseas location.
