As an Area Manager, you will lead a team that keeps operations safe, efficient, and of high quality while taking on projects across our network to drive productivity.

• Create, oversee, and drive a culture of safety and wellbeing.

• Work collaboratively with management-level colleagues to standardise shift practices.

A Day in the Life

You’ll work a shift pattern at one of our sites, focusing on making it as productive as possible. Your main responsibilities include owning and driving a culture of safety, upholding quality and shift performance standards, overseeing process improvements, and implementing changes. The role is varied, covering routine team management, daily operations, process improvement, and large-scale contingency tasks. You will also serve as a role model and mentor to new managers.

Customer Fulfilment, or CF, has evolved from a small team of booksellers to a sophisticated global operation handling more than 1.5 million orders daily. The CF team forms the foundation of our business and helps expand into new regions and services. Powered by emerging technology, we continually seek ways to offer a larger, better product range delivered quickly and affordably. The CF team are the first people in the chain that help customers receive their products at the speed we are known for. We work in Fulfilment Centres, which are at the heart of Amazon’s fast-paced operations network. Lots of different people work in our Fulfilment Centres, so there are plenty of opportunities for every skill set: some manage physical products while others analyse data to help the business make smart decisions.

Basic Qualifications

• A degree.
• Relevant experience in people management.
• Experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
• Experience using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions.
• Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and the local language.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques.
• Experience working in another logistics environment.
• Experience with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional setting.
