M&A Analyst (m/f/d)

Overview

In this role you support the M&A team across the full deal cycle, coordinating internal and external stakeholders from initial assessment to signing and closing. You will identify opportunities aligned with SYNLAB’s M&A strategy and help prepare investment cases for decision makers. You engage in deal sourcing, due diligence, and cross-border transactions, contributing to strategic growth with rigorous financial analysis. This is a hands-on role for a collaborative, metrics-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Verantwortungsbereiche

Support the M&A process across acquisition/divestment projects from assessment to closing
Identify and evaluate potential opportunities with local management
Participate in deal discussions and negotiations with sellers or partners
Prepare investment cases and financial models for Investment Committee
Lead due diligence coordination, data room management, and Q&A
Coordinate and execute legal transaction documentation with the legal team
Act as a go-to contact within the M&A team for Group headquarters
Liaise with internal functions, country management, and external advisors

Zentrale Anforderungen

Master's degree in Business Administration or equivalent, ideally with Finance/Corporate Finance/Accounting focus
1–3 years of relevant M&A experience (investment banking, transaction services, controlling, or auditing)
Strong knowledge of financial analysis, modeling, and company valuation; experience in market analysis and competitive intelligence
Experience in cross-border transactions and multi-stakeholder management
Native German and proficient English; knowledge of a third language is a plus
Strong analytical, entrepreneurial, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Organized, independent, solution-focused, with integrity and initiative
Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Willingness to travel as needed
