Mainframe Infrastructure Administrator (f/m/d)

The PTIT Operations & Governance department is mainly responsible for provisioning CPU, disk, SAN and IT operating systems to core IT operations applications. The PaaS IaaS Unit team ensures management of mainframe servers and supporting infrastructure including z/OS and zVM operating systems (capacity planning, disaster recovery, asset management, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Implement, integrate and maintain hardware and software to ensure quality, cost‑effective services and effective problem resolution to achieve high availability, reliability and performance.
• Install and maintain z/OS and third‑party software.
• Analyse system problems and implement resolutions.
• Prepare and maintain documentation.
• Implement security controls (z/OS RACF) and comply with audit/security requirements.
• Operate on‑call duty distributed among the team (average 1–2 shifts incl. on‑call duty once per 5 weeks).
• Manage SAN, disk and tape storage.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science (or equivalent through business experience).
• Minimum 3 years of experience with IBM zSeries (mainframe) and/or related hardware like SAN disks or tape libraries.
• Mainframe skill background preferably at sysprog level (good knowledge of z/OS, SMP/E, SMS, RACF, z/OSMF, ISV products).
• Technical skills validated through a technical interview.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Initiative and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility in work hours (24x7, including night and weekend installations and test operations).
• Optional Linux or z/Linux skills are an advantage.
