Position summary:

Maintains areas of the facility in a sanitary, orderly and attractive condition by performing various repetitive tasks using necessary equipment and supplies. Position is responsible for general maintenance duties, preventative maintenance, and repair work necessary for seamless hospital operations. Responsible for general grounds keeping, mowing, trimming, clearing snow and ice from all areas around the facility as needed. Position supports clinical staff with certain tasks, provides for basic security and fire assistance, and performs biological waste processing.

Education

Role qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent

Experience:

• Minimum three years essential skills and maintenance experience

Position Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate logs and records
• Perform routine preventative maintenance measures
• Troubleshoot mechanical/HVAC/plumbing/electrical problems - choose best course of action
• Basic understanding of hospital, electrical, mechanical and life safety codes
• Perform routine maintenance and facility inspections
• Maintain grounds in a safe and aesthetically pleasing manner
• Perform bio-hazardous waste duties as outlined in hospital policies
• Provide service and support to clinical and other staff as needed
• Become familiar with and abide by hospital policies, procedures, and codes

• Emergency power (generator and switchgear) experience
• Grounds keeping (mowing and snow/ice control)

• Ability to communicate clearly with assistance
• Ability to respond appropriately to written and verbal communication
• Ability to see clearly with corrective eyewear
• Good finger dexterity
