Overview

In this role you will build and lead a world-class Customer Engineering organization at a major semiconductor fab in Dresden, driving ramp-up, safety, and customer success. You will partner with cross-functional teams to ensure operational readiness and continuous improvement as you support fab startups and production ramps. The position offers strategic responsibility with global exposure and opportunities to shape service delivery for a key customer. This is a chance to influence how Applied Materials enables next-generation manufacturing at scale.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Recruit and develop a high-performing team of Customer Engineers and technical professionals
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Drive workforce planning, succession planning, and employee engagement
  • Lead service operations through equipment installation, qualification, ramp-up, and high-volume manufacturing
  • Ensure onboarding, certification, and training programs; manage resource planning
  • Own performance metrics across safety, quality, productivity, equipment availability, and customer satisfaction
  • Act as leadership interface with strategic customer and build trusted relationships
  • Collaborate with Product Support, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to resolve escalations
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives improving customer outcomes and business performance
  • Support fab startups, installation, commissioning, and manufacturing ramp activities
  • Create and sustain a culture of operational excellence and talent development
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • 5+ years in semiconductor equipment environment, service operations, or related fields
  • 2+ years of people leadership with proven success
  • Hands-on knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing equipment (front-end preferred)
  • Experience in customer-facing, multicultural, and matrixed environments
  • Ability to lead through complexity and influence stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Professional fluency in English
  • Willingness to travel internationally (up to 20%, higher in first 12 months)
