Manager, Ground Service Delivery (Melbourne)

Overview

Finnair Ground Operations is recruiting a Manager of Ground Service Delivery to strengthen our global GSD team. The role is primarily remote, based in Melbourne, Australia, with occasional travel and on‑site presence at Melbourne Airport.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ground service readiness for Finnair customers and aircraft.
• Lead and manage ground handling suppliers and airport partners at nominated airports, delivering targeted outcomes in safety, compliance, cost control, operational performance, and customer experience.
• Drive selected development topics within the area of Ground Service Delivery.
• Exercise managerial responsibility for selected global Finnair airport service managers.

Qualifications

• Strong experience and proven track record in working with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Service procurement, vendor management, operational performance management, and cost management.
• Leadership of complex entities within the airport ecosystem.
• People leadership and strong self‑leadership, proactivity, and result orientation.
• Understanding of ground handling business, related authority regulations, and respective agreements.
• Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills across organizational levels.
• Data literacy and the ability to lead through performance data.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Positive attitude toward continuous learning, development, and improvement.
• Capability to combine strategic direction with operative implementation.
• Legal right to reside and work in Australia.
