Manager, Mechanical Design Engineering (m/f/d)

In this role you will lead the sustaining engineering effort for FormFactor’s Triton silicon photonics test platform, supporting released products in high-volume production. You’ll coordinate across mechanical, electrical, software, and systems teams and drive field issue resolution, reliability improvements, and cost-down initiatives. You will partner with the NPI organization to enable next-generation development and ensure robust product handoffs. • Lead a multi-disciplinary sustaining engineering team (mechanical, electrical, software, systems)
• Manage customer change processes for Triton released products
• Field issue resolution, root cause analysis, and corrective action
• Monitor reliability performance of fielded systems (MTBF)
• Drive cost-down and design-for-manufacturability programs on released products
• Oversee component obsolescence management and supplier qualification changes
• Participate in acceptance criteria and gate reviews for NPI-to-sustaining handoffs

• 7+ years of engineering experience in semiconductor capital equipment or high-reliability complex systems
• Experience owning released products in production and in field issue resolution
• Experience working across geographically distributed teams
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; advanced degree preferred

• leadership of cross-functional teams
• structured judgment in escalations
• strong collaboration with NPI and field feedback loops
• silicon photonics experience
• wafer probe or related test and measurement technologies
• reliability engineering methods (FMEA, accelerated life testing, MTBF modeling)
