Manager (m/f/d) Terminal Procurement

We are seeking a talented and experienced professional to join Hapag‑Lloyd AG as a Manager (m/f/d) Terminal Procurement. In this role, you will play a vital part in developing and implementing collaborative strategies with global terminal operators, ensuring Hapag‑Lloyd’s efficient and competitive operations. Your expertise will be instrumental in negotiating and securing favorable terms, analysing markets, and identifying opportunities to optimize our terminal capacity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and negotiate vendor‑specific collaboration concepts for global terminal operators and achieve budget targets in collaboration with regional procurement teams.
• Conduct market analysis and internal assessments to identify negotiation leverage points.
• Implement strategic proposals to secure terminal capacity and maintain Hapag‑Lloyd’s competitiveness.
• Drive cross‑regional category strategy and sourcing activities, ensuring alignment with stakeholders.
• Support port studies to analyse surplus and demand, impacting sourcing concepts.
• Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships at relevant levels.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify value‑add potentials.
• Contribute to the creation and standardisation of global supplier management processes and tools.

Qualifications

• University degree in business administration, logistics, transportation management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation, shipping, or terminal operations and at least 3 years of experience in procurement functions.
• Result‑driven, enthusiastic, and proactive with strong problem‑solving skills.
• Analytical thinker with good negotiation and conflict management abilities.
• Proven track record in successful stakeholder management.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work cross‑regionally and collaborate with diverse teams.
• Proficiency in data analysis and market research.
