Managing Director of Frankenburg Germany

Frankenburg Technologies is building a new generation of affordable, mass-manufacturable guided missile systems to strengthen the free world’s ability to defend itself and sustain a fight at scale. Founded in 2024, Frankenburg has moved rapidly from development to successful live-fire demonstrations and production, while building strategic partnerships across the European and global defence industry.

Germany is a key market for Frankenburg’s next stage of growth. We are looking for a senior commercial leader to build our business in Germany, develop trusted relationships with customers and industry partners, create and shape new opportunities, and convert them into contracts and long-term programmes.

This is primarily a commercial leadership role, combined with responsibility for leading Frankenburg’s German entity as the business grows.

About the position

You will:

• drive market entry, customer acquisition and revenue growth across Germany and the wider DACH region;
• build trusted senior relationships with defence customers, procurement bodies, government stakeholders and industry partners;
• create and shape new commercial opportunities, positioning Frankenburg’s technologies around customer needs and requirements;
• own the full sales cycle from pipeline development and proposals to negotiation and contract signature;
• develop compelling commercial proposals and offers in close collaboration with Frankenburg’s engineering, product and leadership teams;
• identify market opportunities, funding routes and strategic partnerships that support long-term growth;
• represent Frankenburg with customers, partners, authorities and at key defence industry events;
• lead Frankenburg Germany as the local Managing Director, ensuring appropriate governance and compliance as the business grows.

To succeed in this role, you will bring

• 5+ years of relevant sales and business development experience in defence sector;
• proven track record of developing and closing complex, high-value B2G/B2B opportunities, including long sales cycles and formal procurement processes;
• strong understanding of the German defence market and procurement landscape, with an established network of relevant customers, institutions and industry stakeholders;
• proven ability to create new opportunities and shape customer demand, rather than relying solely on existing pipelines or tenders;
• strong commercial and technical understanding with the ability to credibly position complex technology solutions and engage senior customer and technical stakeholders;
• excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with professional fluency in German and English.

You should be able to operate with a high degree of independence, establish credibility with senior stakeholders and take ownership from first customer engagement through to commercial outcome.

Why Frankenburg?

Frankenburg is building guided missile systems around three principles: affordability, manufacturing scale and rapid replenishment. Its first system, Mark I, is a compact guided air defence missile designed to defeat unmanned aerial threats at close range. In 2026, Frankenburg raised €30 million in Series A funding to accelerate missile development, production capacity and expansion across key European markets.
