Mandatory Internship (Communications and Advocacy)

Responsibilities

• Research, analysis and compilation of information on current developments in politics, civil society and Search and Rescue (SAR)
• Support in advocacy activities and political communication
• Assistance with creating website content and internal information documents
• Weekly press monitoring
• Translation of articles and informational materials from other national sections into German
• Conceptualization and creation of social media content
• Support with administrative tasks
• General support during special occasions such as events, campaigns or periods of increased workload

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in Political Science, Social Sciences, International Relations, Migration Studies, Communications and Media Studies, or a related field with a mandatory internship requirement
• Interest in humanitarian issues and migration policy
• Strong research and analytical skills, and experience in content writing
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Experience working with social media
• Excellent written and spoken German and English
• Commitment to the mission and values of SOS MEDITERRANEE in its European dimension
• Advantageous: knowledge of search and rescue, maritime and international law, migration issues, the Mediterranean context, and graphic design
