Master Thesis – DMA Component Generator (f/m/div)

Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role:

• Framework Proficiency: Gain proficiency with Infineon’s code generation framework, understanding its structure and workflows for automating hardware component creation.
• Generator Design: Design and implement a flexible Direct Memory Access component generator that supports multiple configurations and uses Infineon's modern design flow.
• Benchmarking Components: Measure and benchmark timing and area utilization, ensuring generated DMA components are functionally equivalent to existing solutions through thorough validation.
• Embedded System Integration: Build expertise in Direct Memory Access components, exploring various architecture variants and their integration in embedded systems.
• Modular Design: Integrate interface‑based design principles into Direct Memory Access component generation using MetaRTL, ensuring modularity and scalability while reducing design effort and supporting diverse hardware configurations.

Qualifications and Skills

Education and experience required:

• Enrolled in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems or a related field.
• Background knowledge of digital circuits, design, modeling, synthesis and simulation with Verilog and VHDL.
• Strong proficiency with programming tools, especially Python, Linux, and Git.
• Previous experience with Model‑Driven Engineering is a plus, particularly metamodeling and code generation.
• Fluency in English; German language skills are a plus.
