This is an interesting opportunity for a dedicated Master's student (m/f/d) to work on a fibre optic research project in the field of Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) with a focus on underwater applications. The aim of the work is the acquisition and analysis of fibre optic measurement data, and the development of detection and characterization methods for acoustic signals in the maritime environment. There is a broad scope for the prospective student to define his or her master project. Depending on individual skills and knowledge, the focus can either be on data acquisition (use and configuration of underwater fibre‑optic sensor networks, planning and implementation of measurement campaigns and field tests with subsequent evaluation) or on data analysis (signal processing, evaluation of large data sets, data compression and development of new analysis methods).
Remuneration will be paid up to pay group E5 TVöD depending on qualifications and tasks assigned.
We look forward to getting to know you!
