Mechanical Commissioning Engineer

Responsibilities

The role involves assisting in leading and overseeing the commissioning process of mechanical systems across projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and executing commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Collaborating with project teams to establish commissioning schedules and ensure timely project completion.
  • Conducting comprehensive testing and calibration of HVAC, plumbing, BAS instrumentation, and other equipment.
  • Identifying and troubleshooting issues arising during commissioning.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of commissioning procedures, test results, and performance.
  • Preparing commissioning reports for client review.
  • Communicating with clients throughout the process to ensure satisfaction.
  • Working closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly.

Skills and Requirements

  • Commissioning Leadership: Take charge of planning and executing commissioning, collaborate on schedules.
  • System Testing and Calibration: Conduct testing and calibration for HVAC, plumbing, BAS.
  • Issue Identification and Troubleshooting: Address deviations, work with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain documentation, prepare reports.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate updates, address inquiries.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Integrate mechanical systems within overall project.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in commissioning mechanical systems for industrial or commercial projects.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, safety protocols.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
  • Effective time‑management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for on‑site activities.
