Overview

In this role you will source and qualify suppliers for complex mechanical parts, manage RFI/RFQ processes, and drive value through negotiation and supplier selection. You will lead contract and commercial negotiations, including multi-year agreements, while ensuring cost, quality, and delivery targets. You collaborate across Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing to support launches, mitigate risks, and maintain supply continuity. You will improve processes, support cost reduction efforts, and build strong supplier relationships in a global, engineering-focused environment.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Source and select suppliers for complex mechanical parts; manage RFI/RFQ processes and supplier evaluation to recommend best option
  • Lead contract and commercial negotiations, including pricing, terms, multi-year agreements, and post-award supplier contracts
  • Drive cost reduction and value engineering by supporting annual negotiations and proposing alternative parts with Engineering and Global Purchasing
  • Manage clean launches by coordinating approvals, POs, delivery schedules, and build-event requirements with cross-functional teams
  • Ensure supply continuity and manage part changes, including alternative sourcing, shortages, LTBs, and obsolescence
  • Monitor supplier performance and relationships; drive corrective actions and continuous improvement
  • Lead problem solving and process improvement through root-cause analysis and cross-functional coordination
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • 5+ years of contract purchasing experience in automotive Tier 1 or equivalent
  • Strong sourcing, contracting, and cost-reduction experience, especially for semiconductors or PCBs
  • Basic understanding of production purchasing, tooling, capacity planning/verification, and automotive QA
  • Fluent English and German; Japanese preferred; strong cross-cultural communication
  • Analytical and technical skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Strong negotiation, collaboration, and supplier relationship-management abilities
  • Fact-based problem-solving, attention to detail, ownership, and willingness to travel ~45%
