Mechanical Lead – Data Centre – Frankfurt, Germany

In this Mechanical Lead role, you will be responsible for steering the mechanical package on a large data centre project in Frankfurt. You will lead site delivery, safety, quality, and cost control while coordinating with engineers, the client, and procurement teams. The position offers exposure to mission-critical infrastructure and the chance to shape delivery on a major international project. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to meet strict deadlines and ensure handover readiness.

• Manage the mechanical package and daily site operations
• Oversee safety and quality assurance for mechanical works
• Coordinate project schedules with the team and client
• Control package costs, subcontractors, materials, plant, variations and valuations
• Mentor junior engineers
• Coordinate procurement and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
• Monitor subcontractor progress and programme performance
• Manage snagging, punch lists and outstanding works
• Attend site, engineering, planning, and handover meetings
• Prepare progress reports, labour projections and safety statistics
• Maintain subcontractor safety and technical documentation
• Manage change control and cost/programme impacts
• Coordinate project close-out, final accounts, O&M manuals, QA files and handover
• Collaborate with commercial teams to capture variations and costs
• Ensure adherence to company procedures and project standards

• Trade background with relevant third-level qualification
• Min 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer
• Proven experience coordinating mechanical works on construction projects
• Strong understanding of mechanical installation and subcontractor management
• Experience managing schedules, procurement, costs and quality
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD and MS Project
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Experience delivering large-scale construction projects is desirable
