Optimus Search is partnering with a leading technology company in the Dresden area to source a Freelance Optical Metrology Engineer for an immediate contract opportunity. Excellent daily rate together with a long term contract offering potentially 24 months.

The Role:

You’ll support precision optical measurement and characterisation activities within a high‑tech manufacturing or semiconductor/photonics environment, working on calibration, testing, and validation of optical systems and components.

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience in optical metrology, interferometry, or precision optical measurement systems
• Hands‑on experience with calibration, alignment, and testing of optical instrumentation
• Background in semiconductor, photonics, or precision manufacturing environments
• Strong understanding of measurement uncertainty, tolerancing, and QA processes
• Fluent English; German a strong advantage
• Available to work on‑site in the Dresden area
