Overview

As a Mission Analysis & Flight Dynamics Engineer, you shape the orbital regime and mission lifecycle of SATCOM satellites in GEO. You translate orbital theory into operational processes, collaborating with subsystem designers to ensure mission constraints are embedded in the system. You influence satellite longevity, safety, and efficiency by developing analysis methods and software for mission analysis and flight dynamics. This role offers impactful work on critical satellite constellations within a diverse, international team.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Perform comprehensive Mission Analysis for SATCOM satellites in GEO
  • Develop GEO orbit maneuver strategies including low-thrust propulsion
  • Manage orbit maintenance, station-keeping, re-location, de-orbiting and reconfiguration
  • Optimize GEO-transfer maneuvers with chemical or electrical propulsion
  • Conduct attitude analysis and estimate satellite life expectancy
  • Analyze eclipses, ground-station visibility, and sensor events
  • Perform orbit determination from tracking data and calibrate maneuvers
  • Provide precise ephemeris data and critical products to stakeholders
  • Generate on-board AOCS commands (orbit propagators, attitude profiles)
  • Analyze sensor data and mounting matrix corrections
  • Compute attitude profiles for satellite commanding
  • Provide orbit and attitude predictions for mission operations
  • Support ground-station network procurement and operations
  • Analyze ground-station capacity and perform system performance simulations
  • Evaluate visibility for optical communication
  • Lead the Collision Avoidance concept and maneuvers planning
  • Lead the conception, design, development, and validation of software for Mission Analysis and Flight Dynamics
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in mission analysis and flight dynamics
  • Solid background in orbital mechanics and propagation
  • Hands-on knowledge of orbital dynamics methods
  • Proficiency with mission analysis tools (GMAT, STK/Ansys, FreeFlyer)
  • Strong knowledge of satellite attitude kinematics and dynamics
  • Experience in operational Flight Dynamics context is a plus
  • Familiarity with satellite communications, link budgets, or network concepts
  • Exposure to operational flight dynamics or ground segment operations
  • Knowledge in optimization theory is an advantage
