The Navigation on Pilot (NOP) Lead SystemEngineer ADAS/AD will provide technical leadership in the development of navigation-integrated advanced driver assistance systems . This rolefocuses on features like Navigation on Pilot (NOP), automated lane changes,navigation-based speed adjustments, and geofencing capabilities, ensuring seamlessfunctionality throughout the V-model development cycle (requirements,design, implementation, and testing).
You will ensure the delivery of these featuresby the Start of Production (SOP), meeting quality, timing, and budgettargets . This position emphasizes collaboration with internal andexternal stakeholders to meet program milestones and releaseschedules , focusing on safety , compliance , end-usersatisfaction and feature homologation .
As a leader, you will shape the strategicdirection of navigation-integrated systems like NOP, contributing directlyto the organization’s innovation and competitiveness in ADAS/ADtechnology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technicalleadership for the development of Navigation on Pilot (NOP) features,ensuring the timely delivery of critical milestones .
- Define and synchronize NOP-specificarchitecture at the vehicle level , integrating components like maps,E-horizon, radars, cameras, and chassis systems.
- Lead cross-functionalteams and manage supplier relationships to achieve featureperformance goals within allocated resources.
- Oversee the design andintegration of key functionalities , such as:
- Automated Lane changes.
- Driver monitoring and handoffprocesses.
- Geofenced activation andfeature scalability.
- Approve design conceptsand supplier deliverables for NOP-related features, ensuring they meetsafety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct vehicle-leveltesting and analysis to validate NOP performance , identifying andimplementing improvements.
- Ensure compliance withsafety standards like ISO 26262 and SOTIF , as well as industry-specificregulations for NOP systems.
- Facilitate structuredproblem-solving processes to address technical challenges efficiently.
- Provide system-level DFMEAinputs and ensure risk assessments are documented and managed.
- Participate in continuousimprovement efforts to enhance development processes, product quality, andteam collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s ordegree or PHD in software engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics ,or a related field, with significant experience in navigation-based ADAS/ADfeatures.
- Proven experience in leadingtechnical teams and managing the development of navigation-integratedsystems like NOP.
- Strong understanding of automotiveelectronics , ADAS/AD sensor fusion , and navigation systemintegration .
- Knowledge of standards suchas ISO 26262, SOTIF, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Familiarity with navigation-linkedautonomous systems, including lane-keeping, adaptive cruise control, andgeofencing.
Technical Skills: - Advanced expertise inautomotive network technologies (CAN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet,AUTOSAR).
- Experience in designingsystems for navigation-guided features , such as lane change automation andhighway assistance.
- Proficiency in systemengineering tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect, IBM Rhapsody) andrequirement management platforms (e.g., DOORS, Codebeamer).
- Basic programming knowledge(Python or similar) for task automation and tool integration.
Computer Skills: - Proficiency in MS Office,particularly Excel.
- Comprehensive knowledge ofsystem engineering modeling languages like SysML and UML .
Personal and Language Skills: - Strong leadership and teammotivation abilities , with proven experience moderating and guidingcross-functional teams.
- Excellent communicationskills for presenting technical topics to stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, with a high degreeof tenacity and a pragmatic approach to challenges.
- Fluent in English; locallanguage proficiency is an advantage for non-English speaking regions.
