Network Deployment Build Lead (Network Technician), AWS

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and we're looking for talented people to help.

You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the expansion of next‑generation networks. You should be highly autonomous, very detail oriented, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. You must have experience supporting large‑scale, enterprise‑class networks and documented networking implementation and troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant certification, combined with hands‑on experience in networking deployment and cabling infrastructure best practices.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure technologies including routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls.
  • Cabling & Tools Knowledge: Familiarity with network cabling standards, optic types, and testing tools such as VFL, power meter, and OTDR.
  • Language Skills: Very good command of English, written and spoken.
  • Other Qualifications: High school or equivalent diploma, experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair, networking experience, experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.

Key responsibilities:

  • Scaling support across several data center locations.
  • Responsible for day‑to‑day assistance with capacity management.
  • Working closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate fast, smooth rollout of established designs and products.
  • Deliver simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes.
  • Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
  • Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
  • Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
  • Specifying power and cooling requirements and ensuring hardware racking/stacking completed for new equipment.
