About The Role
Peraton is seeking to hire for Network Engineering & Operations roles for its Regional Cyber Center-Europe program.
Location: On-site, Wiesbaden, Germany
Shift: Potentially 2nd/3rd Shift work
- Senior Network Services Engineer
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise WAN/LAN infrastructure and transport networks across RCC-E area of responsibility, ensuring high availability and compliance with NETCOM standards.
- Perform advanced IP and IP troubleshooting across Ethernet, SONET, and wide-area transport technologies, resolving complex network faults and minimizing service disruptions to mission-critical systems.
- Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, including topology diagrams, IP address management records, and configuration baselines in accordance with Army configuration management policies.
- Support the integration and sustainment of U.S. military C2 systems networks, coordinating with system owners to ensure proper network segmentation, QoS, and security posture.
- Coordinate with NETCOM, ARCYBER, and theater NOCs on circuit provisioning, transport upgrades, and escalation resolution affecting OCONUS operations.
- Monitor network performance using enterprise management tools, analyze traffic patterns and capacity utilization, and provide recommendations for optimization and capacity planning.
- Senior Network Engineer (Systems/Infrastructure)
- Lead network infrastructure engineering efforts in RCC-E, designing scalable and resilient LAN/WAN architectures that meet DoDIN standards and support Army operations across the European theater.
- Configure and optimize routing and switching infrastructure (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) on Cisco and Juniper platforms, ensuring optimal paths and network stability across enclaves.
- Integrate network security controls into designs, including firewall rule sets, VLAN architecture, and access control policies aligned with DISA STIGs and Army cybersecurity requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed network engineering documentation including low-level designs, as-built diagrams, IP address management records, and change packages.
- Manage network change requests through the Army change management process, coordinating maintenance windows and implementing rollback procedures as needed.
- Provide Tier 3 engineering support for complex network incidents, coordinating with NETCOM and NOCs to restore services.
- Senior Network Management Engineer (Technical)
- Provide technical oversight of Network Operations Center (NOC) activities, ensuring 24/7 monitoring coverage and timely response to network events.
- Deploy, configure, and administer enterprise network monitoring and management systems (NMS/EMS), including SNMP polling, syslog, and threshold-based alerting.
- Manage incident escalation procedures for outages and performance issues, coordinating with Tier 2/3 teams, NETCOM, and government stakeholders.
- Generate and deliver network performance reports and trend analyses to leadership, with recommendations for capacity upgrades.
- Administer monitoring infrastructure, onboard devices, enforce log retention, and forward security events to SIEM systems.
- Coordinate with transport and circuit management to track WAN circuit status, manage outage tickets, and maintain network inventory and circuit documentation.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise routers and switches, ensuring devices operate within performance baselines and DISA STIG requirements.
- Manage VLAN architecture and network segmentation, including trunking, spanning tree optimization, and inter-VLAN routing.
- Develop and maintain ACLs and firewall policies on network devices in line with security policies and change management.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues using packet capture tools, protocol analyzers, and network management systems.
- Maintain up-to-date network documentation including device configurations, diagrams, IP addresses, and change logs per Army configuration management standards.
- Process network change requests through the Army change management process, coordinating with NOC and engineering teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; minimum of 3 years with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 4+ years of relevant experience with TCP/IP networks.
- Meets TESA Qualifications.
- DoD 8140 - IT (Network Operations Specialist) - Advanced
- Active certification (one of the following): CCNA; OR CCNP Security - any track; OR JNCIS
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with U.S. military C2 systems or commercial LAN/WAN environments
- U.S. citizenship required
- Active DoD SECRET clearance
Preferred
- Proficiency with Cisco IOS/IOS-XE CLI for router and switch configuration.
- Experience with Juniper JunOS platform administration and configuration.
- Familiarity with OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP routing.
- Knowledge of 802.1X and ISE integration for network access control.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.).
- Familiarity with DISA STIG requirements and automated compliance scanning.
- Experience with ITSM ticketing systems (ServiceNow or Remedy).
- Knowledge of IPv6 addressing and dual-stack configurations.
Details
Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. Salary is determined by various factors including scope and responsibilities, experience, education, and location. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonus may be available.
