Network Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Network Support Engineer to join our IT operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security across the organization. This role requires a hands‑on professional with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work in fast‑paced environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN network infrastructure
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, performance, and hardware issues
• Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices
• Manage and support VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing
• Perform network upgrades, patches, and firmware updates
• Respond to incidents, service requests, and outages within SLA timelines
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support network‑related initiatives
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures
• Ensure adherence to security policies and best practices
• Assist in implementing network monitoring and alerting tools

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2–5+ years of experience in network support or network engineering roles
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, OSI model, routing, switching)
• Hands‑on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment
• Experience with firewalls and basic network security practices
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG)
• Knowledge of VPN technologies and remote access solutions
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Good communication skills for cross‑team collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent
• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Basic scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)
• Exposure to ITIL processes and ticketing systems
• Understanding of network automation tools and practices
