Occupational Health and Safety Specialist

Stellenbeschreibung:

Advising managers on occupational health and safety matters
Organizing and conducting workplace inspections, training sessions, and Occupational Health and Safety Committee (ASA) meetings
Organizing and participating in risk assessments
Analyzing workplace accidents and supporting departments in root-cause analysis and the development of appropriate measures
Supporting departments in implementing Umicore safety standards through consultation, facilitation, action tracking, and progress monitoring
Assisting with the preparation of operating instructions, hazardous-substances registers, and emergency plans
Documenting incidents and managing follow-up actions
Supporting compliance audits
Maintaining and further developing the Quentic EHS software
Serving as the contact person for the employers' liability insurance association (BG) and liaising with Umicore's EHS department

Requirements

Completed qualification as an occupational health and safety specialist in accordance with Section 7 of the German Occupational Safety Act (ASiG)
Completed three-year vocational training in a mechanical trade
In addition, a completed, typically one-year, full-time advanced vocational qualification or specialist qualification, such as an IHK-certified master craftsperson qualification, or a university degree in occupational health and safety
Professional experience as an occupational health and safety specialist is desirable
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Project management skills are desirable
Quick comprehension and ability to grasp complex issues
Strong facilitation and communication skills
High assertiveness and resilience under pressure
Good written and spoken German and English
Good knowledge of MS Office
Experience with Quentic EHS software is desirable
